(U)HPLC Column Accessories
YMC offers a wide range of column accessories, for example an optimum connector to avoid connection problems in (U)HPLC, such as dead volumes: MarvelXACT™-connectors.
To use YMC’s guard cartridges YMC provides two guard cartridge holder systems to guarantee the optimum protection for every YMC analytical column. For semi-preparative columns guard cartridges and holders are also available.
Perfect (U)HPLC-Connection - MarvelXACT™
Ensure a perfect connection with the new MarvelXACT™ Fitting System for simple liquid chromatography. Build with either robust stainless steel coated with bioinert PEEK, PEEKsil or stainless steel, MarvelXACT™ can be connected and disconnected more than 100 times. The connection system incorporates flexible 1/32" OD capillary tubing to easily route through the system. It is compatible with 10-32 coned ports and absolutely fingertight up to 131 MPa / 19,000 psi.

Analytical Guard Columns and Holder
YMC offers a universal finger tight system (XPGCH-Q1 for 10 mm cartridges and XPGCH-Q2E for 20 mm cartridges) that is compatible with all YMC HPLC columns from 2.0 to 4.6 mm ID. This system guarantees a low dead volume connection between the guard cartridge and the main column irrespective of the type of column fitting used. The guard cartridge holder provides leak-proof connection to the analytical column up to 55 MPa / 8,000 psi.
The HPLC guard cartridges are available with inner diameters of 2.1, 3.0, or 4.0 mm and with all YMC stationary phases. The part number of analytical guard cartridges ends with -GC (e.g. AA12S05-0104GC for 10 x 4.0 mm ID cartridges).
For UHPLC purposes, cartridges of 5 mm length by 2.1 or 3.0 mm inner diameter are available. They are pressure tolerant up to 100 MPa / 15,000 psi. The part number of UHPLC guard cartridges ends with -CC (e.g. TA12SP9-E5Q1CC for 2.1 mm ID). The part number for the corresponding guard cartridge holder is XPCHUHP.
Semi Preparative Guard Columns and Holder
For semipreparative columns, cartridges and holders of 10 mm length by 10, 20 or 30 mm inner diameter are available. They are pressure tolerant up to 30 MPa / 4,350 psi. The part number of semiprep. guard cartridges ends with -CC(N) (e.g. AA12S05-0110CC for 10 mm ID and AA12S05-0130CCN for 30 mm ID). The part numbers for the corresponding guard cartridge holders are XPCHSPW1 (10 mm ID), XPGHFSP20ID (20 mm ID) or XPGHFSP30ID (30 mm ID).
Stainless Steel Precolumn Filter

Filter construction with minimal dead volume
Effective diameter of the filter is extremely small, about 1.6 mm. Sample diffusion occuring in the passage is minimised. The frit porosity is 0.5 µm.
High pressure resistance
Stainless Steel filters can stand pressures up to 60 MPa / 8,700 psi.
PEEK Precolumn Filter
Metal-free
The material of the wetted part of the holder is PEEK and that of the filter is a mixture of PEEK and Teflon. PEEK precolumn filters are suitable for use in HPLC systems requiring a metal-free environment. The frit porosity is 2 µm.
High pressure resistance
PEEK precolumn filters tolerate pressures up to 35 MPa / 5,080 psi.
