Separation according to hydrophobicity

In his online presentation, Dr Daniel Eßer from YMC Europe GmbH focuses on separation by hydrophobicity. More specifically, he discusses reversed phase chromatography (RP) and hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC). He explains both modes clearly and in detail. Among other things, he explains the mechanisms, the different phases and the applications. The focus is on the appropriate column selection for reversed phase chromatography (RP) and hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC).

Daniel Eßer studied chemistry with a focus on pharmaceutical and analytical chemistry at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in Rheinbach. He completed his doctorate at the Institute for Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. He then established a nanoLC-MS system there as part of his postdoc. He has been working at YMC since 2013, initially as a product specialist for analytical chromatography. Since 2017, he has been responsible for the analytical (U)HPLC column portfolio as Product Manager Analytical Chromatography.
