Analysis of benzodiazepines and their metabolites by UHPLC-MS/MS
The analysis of benzodiazepines in biological fluids is important to clinicians and forensic toxicologists because of their sedative, hypnotic, antianxiety, antiepileptic and muscle relaxant properties. However, it is challenging to analyse these compounds because their chemical structures, molecular weights and fragmentation patterns during mass spectrometry are very similar.
This application note shows a high-resolution UHPLC separation using a robust YMC-Triart C18 column including the previous sample preparation [1]. The simultaneous analysis of etizolam, triazolam, and their metabolites 8-ethylhydroxyetizolam, alpha-hydroxyetizolam, 4-hydroxytriazolam and alpha-hydroxytriazolam in biological samples is performed by MS/MS detection.

Cost-efficient Purification of Antibodies
How to obtain an efficient and reliable purification of antibodies?
The commercial success of antibody pharmaceuticals, depends on a careful consideration of the production costs. Process efficiency is strongly influenced by the binding capacity of the used resin, as this determines the amount of product that can be purified per chromatographic cycle.
A comparison study was conducted and BioPro IEX S30 was tested alongside competitive resins for the purification of a monoclonal, pharmaceutical antibody under various method conditions. This study is available for download here and confirms a significant gain in dynamic binding capacity due to the use of the YMC IEX resin.
