Technical note: Comparitive study of pressure flow characteristics of IEX resins
The pressure flow characteristics of IEX resins are mainly based on the physical properties of the base beads used for the resin. In general, the particle size of the resin is the overriding parameter responsible for the separation efficiency according to the diffusion processes and for the inherent backpressures during the chromatographic processes. In this technical note, the pressure flow characteristics of two commonly used AEX resins are compared.
The YMC resin shows much better pressure flow characteristics. As a result, the YMC resin can be used over a greater flow rate range and with higher flow rates. For a pressure range of up to 3 bar, the YMC resin can be used with flow rates of up to 800 cm/hr for a bed length of 24 cm.
Preparative Chiral LC
YMC’s CHIRAL ART stationary phases for preparative chiral chromatography are available on either amylose or cellulose supports. For extended versatility, you can choose coated or immobilised versions. A variety of available chiral selectors allows you to succeed in many individual applications.
Combined with the striking cost-efficiency, CHIRAL ART is highly regarded for development or upscaling of chiral purification processes. In addition, you can make use of scouting columns and lab services for selectivity screening!
CHIRAL ART bulk material is available in up to several hundred kilograms with YMC's well known high quality, reproducibility and technical support. It provides a significant tool for downstream processing at pilot production scale.
Available Phases are:
- CHIRAL ART Amylose-C (Neo)
- CHIRAL ART Amylose-SA
- CHIRAL ART Cellulose-C
- CHIRAL ART Cellulose-SB
- CHIRAL ART Cellulose-SC
- CHIRAL ART Cellulose-SJ
