Dr Moritz Susewind

Method development and optimisation of SEC analyses

In this online presentation, Dr Moritz Susewind from PSS Polymer Standards Service GmbH goes into detail about the applications and challenges in method development and optimisation of SEC analyses. What is needed for SEC is explained in detail. The hardware and software for lightscattering are discussed in detail, as well as the biocompatible columns required. Dr Susewind compares the light scattering detector and the UV detector with examples. The different columns are also clearly compared with each other using graphics.

Dr Moritz Susewind, PSS Polymer Standards Service GmbH, Mainz

Moritz Susewind studied chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and did his doctorate at the Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry on the control of nucleation and growth of biomimetic crystalline systems. He then worked as a postdoc at the Institute of Physical Chemistry on in situ techniques to elucidate nucleation and growth processes in a research group specialising in atomic force microscopy. Since 2016, he has been working for PSS as a particle specialist for the development of new carrier materials and is involved in courses for GPC training.
