Methods for the analysis of native and associated proteins

Martin Klaßen from the Institute for Energy and Environmental Technology e.V. (IUTA) presents alternative methods for the characterisation of native and associated proteins in this online presentation. He focuses on the analysis of monoclonal antibodies and their aggregates. For this purpose, Raman spectroscopy is first discussed in detail, as well as an amplification technique for the surfaces. In the second part of the presentation, Klaßen goes into the analysis of virus-like particles. This is about the characterisation of virus-like particles and a possible method.

Martin Klaßen studied chemical engineering with a focus on biotechnology at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences and deepened his knowledge in the field of protein analytics through a master's degree in biochemistry at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Since 2013 he has been working in the field of research analytics & miniaturisation at IUTA and has been head of the bioanalytics team since 2021. The main focus is on the development of procedures and methods for protein characterisation based on various separation and detection methods such as Raman spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
