Different therapeutic modalities in bioanalytics

Dr Terence Hetzel is a laboratory manager in the field of bioanalytics at the GLP testing facility at Bayer AG. In this online presentation, he gives a comprehensive insight into the bioanalytics of various therapeutic modalities. By way of introduction, this presentation first clarifies what bioanalytics is and defines the terms pharacokinetics and pharmacodynamics as well as their interaction. Hetzel shows how diverse the application of bioanalytics is, which different modalities can be analysed and which analytical challenges arise due to this diversity. The theory is illustrated in the presentation with use cases.

Dr Terence Hetzel, Bayer AG, Wuppertal

Terence Hetzel studied at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences and subsequently completed his doctorate at the University of Duisburg-Essen. His research focus at the Institute for Energy and Environmental Technology e.V. (IUTA) was primarily in the area of further development and characterisation of miniaturised liquid chromatographic separation techniques in combination with mass spectrometric detection. Since 2017, he has been working as a laboratory manager in the field of bioanalysis at the GLP testing facility at Bayer AG. There he is dedicated to the analysis of various modalities from biological matrices using LC-MS.
